We’re partnering with Blackpool Council to launch a new Town Centre Shutters pilot scheme.
The initiative is designed to give businesses peace of mind with enhanced security without compromising the look and feel of the town centre, offering grants towards the installation of high-quality internal shutters.
Choosing an internal approach means businesses can guard against issues like crime and vandalism, while ensuring the town centre remains welcoming, active and inviting for everyone passing through.
This new scheme sits alongside our wider work to keep the town centre safe and secure, building on existing initiatives like ShopWatch and Pub Watch, which help local businesses stay connected, share intelligence and tackle problems before they escalate.
Together, these initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment, alongside the Council, to creating a town centre that feels safe, looks great and supports a thriving business community.
The scheme is open to any business with a ground-floor shop front located within the town centre conservation area. The application window runs until 13 July 2026.
It’s a great chance for qualifying businesses to strengthen their security while helping shape a brighter, more sustainable future for Blackpool town centre.
