Blackpool BIDs is seeking a Marketing and PR agency to work with us from May 2026, covering both the Blackpool Town Centre BID and the Tourism BID and representing over 500 levy-paying businesses across the town. This will support the next phase of Blackpool BIDs’ strategic development.
The appointed agency will manage our social media channels, produce content for the GO Blackpool brand, lead marketing for Blackpool Restaurant Week, handle PR support for both planned and reactive activity, and manage our two BID websites.
They’ll play a central role in shaping the town centre and tourism narrative, strengthening business engagement, and driving positive perceptions of Blackpool with visitors and residents.
We want to work with an agency that has experience in destination marketing, place branding, or BID-related communications, with a strong portfolio of social media and content work and a clear understanding of Blackpool, its identity, its challenges, and what it’s capable of.
The Work
Social media is a significant part of the role. The agency will manage all BID and GO Blackpool channels, build monthly content plans, create written, visual and short-form video content, schedule and publish posts across platforms, handle day-to-day audience engagement, and report on performance monthly. Where paid social is needed, the agency will manage that too.
Website content must be managed on both BID websites to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and adherence to BID accreditation and best-practice principles.
For GO Blackpool, we want an agency that can develop a year-round content strategy, oversee what goes on the platform, and produce photography, video, business features and visitor guides that make the tool useful and appealing. It should be positioned as the leading consumer-facing digital tool to explore all Blackpool has to offer, whilst providing levy-paying businesses opportunities to promote their services.
Blackpool Restaurant Week is a growing annual event, and we need an agency that can take ownership of its marketing from start to finish. That involves campaign planning, asset creation, business recruitment support, website management, influencer outreach, and a full post-event evaluation each year.
PR support sits alongside all of this, including press releases, media liaison, crisis communications when needed, and monitoring of coverage across all activity.
The successful agency will be expected to deliver quarterly performance reviews against agreed KPIs, annual campaign reports for GO Blackpool and Restaurant Week, PR coverage logs and evaluation summaries, a levy-payer communications strategy and a clear communications protocol for reactive PR.
The Contract
The contract runs from May 5th, 2026, to March 31st, 2029, with an option to extend for a further rolling 12 months.
