Introducing The Blackpool Student Edit: A New Guide for Blackpool’s Growing Student Community

Blackpool BIDs are delighted to announce the launch of The Blackpool Student Edit, a brand-new digital guide created with Blackpool & The Fylde College to help students and apprentices discover more of what Blackpool town centre has to offer.

From the best places to eat, shop and socialise, to study spaces, wellbeing support, events, activities, volunteering opportunities and exclusive offers, The Blackpool Student Edit has been created to become a go-to resource for students throughout the academic year.

Helping students discover more of Blackpool

Blackpool is home to a growing student and apprentice community, and with the opening of the Multiversity on the horizon in 2028, this audience will continue to play an increasingly important role in the future of our town centre.

We want students to feel connected to the place where they live, learn and spend their time. Whether they’re looking for somewhere affordable to grab lunch, a quiet place to study, an event to attend or a new part of the town to explore, The Blackpool Student Edit is here to help them discover it.

The guide brings together a range of useful information and student-friendly recommendations, including:

  • Places to eat
  • Study spaces
  • Student offers and discounts
  • Events and activities
  • Music and culture
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Getting around
  • Keeping safe

The first edition has been shared digitally with students and apprentices at Blackpool & The Fylde College, giving them an easy-to-access guide to making the most of student life in Blackpool.

More than just a digital guide

The launch of The Blackpool Student Edit marks the beginning of a wider initiative to strengthen the connection between Blackpool town centre, local businesses, Blackpool & The Fylde College and the town’s growing student community.

As we look ahead to the opening of the Multiversity in 2028, there is a real opportunity for businesses to start building relationships with this audience now.

Students aren’t just passing through Blackpool, they are customers, employees, volunteers, creatives and future residents. We want to help them feel welcomed into the town centre and encourage them to discover and support the fantastic businesses, venues and organisations that make Blackpool unique.

An opportunity for Blackpool businesses

The Blackpool Student Edit is also an opportunity for local businesses to connect with a valuable and growing audience.

The first edition of the guide may have launched, but the campaign doesn’t stop there. Throughout the academic year, Blackpool BIDs will continue to promote student-friendly businesses, offers and events through a programme of marketing activity.

Businesses can get involved by sharing:

  • A student discount or special offer
  • An event or activity aimed at students
  • A student-friendly product or service
  • A welcoming place to eat, drink, study or socialise

Participating offers and events can be promoted through Blackpool BIDs’ social media channels, the GO Blackpool app and future seasonal campaign activity.

We’ll also be introducing campaign posters across the town, allowing businesses to display their own student offers and show their support for Blackpool’s student community.

If you’d like to get involved and submit your offer or event, we’d love to hear from you.

Looking ahead

The Blackpool Student Edit has been created with the ambition to grow alongside Blackpool’s student population, developing into an ongoing platform that helps students discover more of the town while creating new opportunities for businesses to reach them.

By working together, Blackpool BIDs, Blackpool & The Fylde College, local partners and businesses can help create a town centre where students feel connected, supported and excited to spend their time.
