Abingdon Street Market in Blackpool has been named one of the Top 10 Food Halls in the UK in the British Street Food Awards. The market is now calling on supporters to cast their votes and help secure the top spot.
Voting is open, and members of the public can show their support by voting online: Vote For The Best Food Hall in the UK 2025
Reopened in May 2023 after a major restoration, Abingdon Street Market has quickly established itself as a food and retail hub in the heart of Blackpool. It is home to six independent street food vendors, including Ruud Coffee, Pizza Rana, Flipadelphia, Nensho Men, and Chamo, alongside a pop-up kitchen that regularly hosts guest traders from across the UK. This rotating space allows both established and emerging chefs to showcase their menus to Lancashire audiences.
The market also includes 12 retail units offering everything from handmade artwork and vinyl records to 3D printing. A year-round programme of events and workshops adds to its role as a space where food, culture, and community come together.
Abingdon Street Market is operated by Little Blackpool Leisure (LBL), an independent hospitality company founded in Blackpool. With a focus on food, drink, and leisure experiences, LBL has combined independent hospitality with a commitment to regeneration, creating a destination that celebrates both local talent and global flavours.
Jake Whittington, Managing Director of Little Blackpool Leisure, said: “This recognition reflects the energy and dedication of our team, vendors, and visitors. We’re grateful to everyone who has already voted for us. With continued support, we hope to go even further and bring the award home to Blackpool.”
The transformation of Abingdon Street Market was supported by £3.6 million from the UK Government’s Getting Building Fund, £315,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and £90,000 from the Historic England Heritage Action Zone programme.
Now recognised among the UK’s best food halls, the market is encouraging locals and visitors to show their support by voting.
