Discover Blackpool’s Real Ale Trail

Blackpool pours a brilliant pint, and the town’s Real Ale Trail on GO Blackpool is the perfect way to enjoy it this Christmas.

From traditional pubs serving up perfectly kept cask ales to modern bars with small-batch local brews, the trail guides you through some of the town’s favourite spots for a festive drink.

Start your trail at Raleside Brewhouse, where you can enjoy locally brewed beers in a relaxed, friendly setting. If you’re wandering through the town centre, Washington and Station Blackpool offer a welcoming atmosphere and a chance to warm up during a day of Christmas shopping.

The Counting House and The Mitre bring character and charm, perfect for groups looking for a cosy spot to gather before heading to a show or festive market. For a reliable and easygoing choice, The Layton Rakes (JD Wetherspoon) is open throughout the day and offers budget-friendly drinks and food.

Cosy, independent pubs like The Rose and Crown, Dirty Blondes, Shickers Tavern, Churchill’s, and Cask & Tap each have their own atmosphere, whether you’re catching up with friends or looking for somewhere quiet to enjoy a seasonal pint. The Townsman, Rhythm and Brew Room, Frenchman’s Cove, and Albert’s Ale Micropub round out the trail, offering a mix of classic and craft ales to suit any taste.

At this time of year, the Real Ale Trail works for festive gatherings of all kinds – a mid-shopping stop, a cosy place to warm up after a visit to Christmas by the Sea, or just a relaxed pint with friends.

The trail is easy to follow using the free GO Blackpool app. Simply download the app from your app store, register for an account, tap ‘More’ in the bottom right, select ‘Tours’, and swipe to find the Real Ale Trail. From there, you can see all the participating pubs, check local offers, and plan your route.

Celebrate the season with good company, great beer, and a toast to the holidays. Blackpool’s Real Ale Trail is ready to be explored …cheers to that 🍻
